Fresh out of 2010′s Fashion Week in Trinidad and Tobago, I couldn’t help but notice all the blogs, thoughts, snaps and praises directed toward FWTT organisers, designers and models. And during a bit of weekend reading, I came across several quotations from international stalwarts that seem to serve each criticism (good or ‘different’) of the designers on show. Allow me to share:
“It’s all about the customer – your customer. Decide who she is and then really get to know what she’s about.” – Donna Karan
“Never believe the good press because that means you have to believe the bad. Be true to yourself.” – Donna Karan
“You can’t be everything to everybody.” – Richard Lambertson
“Continue to learn everyday. Technique should always serve imagination, and not the opposite, because technique can shrink your creation, and creation is everything.” – Christian Louboutin
“Sometimes ideas work; sometimes they don’t, but the most important thing is that you roll the dice. The fashion industry is forever evolving…” – Cynthia Rowley
Cheers,
Mel
