Pigeon Point, Tobago (April 27, 2012) – Tobago Fashion Weekend returns with its sophomore fashion fest from May 25 to May 27, 2012 with the theme “Dan Dan Fiesta.” In its second year, Tobago Fashion Weekend 2012 (TFW 2012) ups the ante by increasing the featured designers, opening a Fashion Park for retail options, incorporating educational opportunities, and (drum roll, please) welcoming Anya Ayoung Chee - who, thankfully, will be doing more than making a celebrity appearance. The excitement gets underway with a cocktail party on May 25, followed by the TFW 2012 runway opening on May 26-27 at the beautiful Pigeon Point, Tobago. The weekend will feature an extensive Fashion Park where patrons will have the opportunity to purchase – on the spot – items from on-runway and off-runway collections. Designers Meiling and Wadada Movement have also confirmed their participation in the weekend’s shows.
TFW 2012 is organized by Designers United Stores (DUS), a non-profit group dedicated to enhancing the local fashion industry into a thriving and viable enterprise with entrepreneurial opportunities across many sectors.
